In 2022

The 78th Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 25th November 2022. During the meeting there were several awards handed out to some really dedicated volunteers.

Mel from Seacliff Judo received a Premiers Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service.

We also handed out 10 year certificates to Eliza Reed, Livia Schwegler and Kim Maxwell from Seacliff Calisthenics and Brian Richardson from Seacliff Judo. 20 year certificates to Alicia Symonds and Lucy Tresidder from Seacliff Calisthenics and Debby Scheepers from Seacliff Gymnastics. 30 year certificate to Margie Blackwood from Seacliff Calisthenics.

In 2021

The 77th Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 26th November 2021, with appropriate COVID guidelines in place throughout the evening.

Megan Simpson from Seacliff Calisthenics received a Premiers Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service. Beverley Manns our centre President received the South Australian Volunteer Certificate of Appreciation. Life Member was given to Kathy Wilson – Seacliff Calisthenics.

We also handed out 10 year certificates to Laura Morden, Bek Fletcher and Tim Wright from Seacliff Gymnastics and Ella Cox, Kate Ferguson, Brianna Wuest and Lucy Mullarvey from Seacliff Calisthenics. Four 20 year certificates to Melissa Kari and Jason Kari from Seacliff Judo and Shannon Gaffney and Michelle Simpson from Seacliff Calisthenics. One 40 year certificate to Sue Edward from Seacliff Calisthenics.

In 2020

The 76th Annual General Meeting was finally held on Friday 26th February 2021, due to COVID restrictions we were unable to hold it back in November 2020.

Jason Kari from Seacliff Judo received a Premiers Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service. We also handed out 10 year certificates to appreciate all the hard work our volunteers do – these went to Lily Reed, Rychelle Heneka, Lily Lawrence and Denae Plenty from Seacliff Calisthenics. Three 20 year certificates to Kelly Wicks, Jayde Winzel and Sheriden Milam. Two 30 year certificates to Natalie Morgan and Carol Porter from Seacliff Calisthenics. There were no life member awards this year.

In 2019

The 75th Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 29th November 2019. During the meeting there were several awards handed out to some really dedicated volunteers.

Carol Porter and Margie Blackwood from Seacliff Calisthenics received a Premiers Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service. Well done to you both on such a deserving award, we’re all so proud of you and all that you do for both Seacliff Calisthenics and the SCRA. We also handed out 10 year certificates to appreciate all the hard work our volunteers do – these went to Kara Jeffery, Amy Hackett, Clare Moase and Beverley Manns. A 30 year certificate to Marilynn Rayner. There were two life member awards – Brian Richardson and Debby Scheepers.

Congratulations to you all – so deserving – thank you for all that you do for the centre and your groups – you are amazing!

In 2018

At the 2018 AGM two awards were awarded. Beverley Manns, the president of Seacliff Community Recreation Association Incorporated was awarded a 2018 Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service.

Also Annette Simpson, Chairperson of Seacliff Calisthenics received a 2018 Premiers Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service for her 30 plus years of dedication to Seacliff Calisthenics.

In 2017

At the 2017 AGM two awards were awarded. Hazel Statham was awarded a 2017 Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service for her 30 plus years of volunteering at Seacliff Gymnastics Club.

Also in 2017 Marilynn Rayner was presented with a 2017 Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service for her 30 plus years of volunteering at Seacliff KinderGym and also her time spent on the Board of Management.

In 2016

Seacliff Calisthenics celebrated their 60th anniversary. At the AGM that year, the group was presented with the 2016 Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for outstanding volunteer service. Calisthenics member Sue Edward was awarded with a City of Holdfast Bay Certificate of Appreciation for her 35 plus years of volunteering at Seacliff Calisthenics.

Also in 2016, a  Volunteer Recognition Award was awarded to Life Member of the Centre, John Bollinger.

November 2015

The Seacliff Community Recreation Association Inc achieved “STARCLUB” status. Read more about it here.

December 2015

Seacliff Recreation Centre won the Best Community Award at the Glenelg Christmas Pageant.

Also in 2015

The centre was awarded the Holdfast Bay Councils Club of the Year Award. In the same year, Life Member Ute Jefferies was awarded the Australian Government Volunteer Award. Life Member Carolyn Daly was presented with a Volunteer Recognition Award for her 18 years of service to the Centre.

In December, David Speirs MP Member for Bright gave a speech in Parliament about the Centre which you can read here.

Sports Club of The Year

The Seacliff Community Recreation Association Inc (Seacliff Recreation Centre) was the proud recipient of the City of Holdfast Bay 2011 Community Recognition Award for their outstanding service to the local community.

Our Seacliff Kindergym Leader, Marilynn Rayner was presented with a City of Holdfast Bay Community Service Award for her 30 years of service to the community- Marilynn also was named the National Kindergym Coach of the Year in 2010.

Clare Moase (Coach of Judo and Kindergym groups) won a Gold Medal in the 2011 Masters Games in her weight division. She also competed at the 2015 Paris Marathon and raised funds for Asthma SA & Cure Brain Cancer.

Margie Blackwood (Calisthenics group) was first in the 2011 City to Bay Fun Run in her age group and also finished 2nd in the 2011 Masters Games 5000mts run.

Life Member Terry Gregory was presented with the 2010 City of Holdfast Bay’s Citizen of the Year Award for his service to our centre and the community. In 2014, Terry was given a Volunteer Recognition Award for his many years of service.
